Do I need an Internet connection to run Video Shoppe?
No. You can use an internet connection to send email, check and download the latest updates, create RSS Feeds, automatically create web pages, or upload customer synchronization data (for multi-store use), but no internet connection is required. As a matter of fact, about 70% of the stores that use Video Shoppe don't have a connection in their store. However, using the internet for marketing is probably the best thing you can do to market your store.
Is Video Shoppe a DOS Program dressed up to look like a windows program?
No. Video Shoppe requires Windows XP, Windows 2000 or Windows Vista. It will work on Windows 98 and Windows 95, but those are old versions of Windows that Microsoft is no longer supporting. Video Shoppe is a 32bit Windows program. Video Shoppe will run on the new 64 bit Windows operating systems.
Because our old program is a DOS program, does that mean you can't convert our old customer and inventory information?
No. It just means that you may have to get a computer person to get the data off of your hard disk. Data is data, as long as you can send it to us, we can probably convert it to our format. We've done hundreds of data conversions for dozens of different programs, even homemade programs.
