Note: Look under the Sales Inventory Browse for the differences between the Simple Inventory Form and the Detailed Inventory Form.

Entering Fields

You may type in the Item ID Number, up to 12 characters, or scan it in with your barcode scanner. Next type in the description of up to 40 characters. When you tab to the Item Type field, the Sale Item Type lookup table will display. You can add an item type there, or select a pre-existing item type. The item types shown will be unique to sales items.

If you use Sub Categories, they will be the same categories in the rental file, so you may want to add some specialized categories. Most sales items will not need sub-categories.

The Inventory type must be a sale item. Then enter the location from the location table, and the vendor from the vendor table. You may add to the tables when they are displayed.

The optional barcode or unique shelf ID is a 12 character field that you can add a second number to your inventory item. Like the Item Number, it must be unique.

Age restriction will not let you sell to people over that age.

Taxable will come in from the Item Type, but you can change it here.

Date bought will be entered automatically, or you can overwrite it.
